Girls Night Out...VEGAS STYLE!!!

Mom took all her girls to St. George & Las Vegas for 4 days. Sooooo much fun! Between shopping, eating, shows, and just staying up late laughing our guts out I don't know what part was the most fun. But the one thing I can say for sure is that I have the most amazing mom & sisters that anyone could have. I had so much fun with these ladies and had some bonding experiences and created some memories I will never forget. I love you all so much and am greatful for each one of you and your examples. You're the best!

Bridal Veil Falls

We took a little family hike up to Bridal Veil Falls. As always is was super beautiful and the kids absolutely loved it. The hike is fairly easy but when both your kids decide they want to be carried it became a little more difficult. :-) Time for Jess & I to get in shape. But anyone needing a quick, fun, close family activity, we suggest this. Especially now with all the fall leaf changes. Breath taking!

Disneyland 2009

Jess & I took Jessica to Disneyland the week after Labor Day! It's the perfect time. Great weather and best of all...NO LINES!!! It was awesome! We had a great time and even convinced Uncle Shaun to come for a day. Jessi was so excited to see him. We wished Jess' sister Kathy & her husband Tommy could have come, but we weren't able to work it out. Maybe next time. :-) It was so fund being with Jessica though and she had the time of her life.

We enrolled Jessi on her first sports team. We tried ballet last winter but she had way too many ants in her pants for such a diciplined dance. On her first game she scored 6 of the 8 goals so it seems to be a better fit so far. Yay!

We went to the fair grounds with Aunt Julie. She entered a doll dress she had made and placed 1st! We're so proud of her and had to celebrate. Jessi's cousins Rebekah & Hannah joined us. After a super dinner provided by Julie we went to the Demolition Derby. We've never been and I must say it was the craziest thing I've ever seen. But so much fun. Can't wait to go next year! Thanks Julie for always makin' everything so much fun. We love ya tons!!!

Jessica and Kaleb are two little peas in a pod. They absolutely love eachother and play so cute together. Kaleb idolizes his big sister and tries to everything she does. Jordan is our babysitter we've had come over the last two summers. But we're always so sad when she has to go back to school. In July she went to Costa Rica on a humanitian project

to work in the orphanages. She brought home Jessi these shoes and she has to wear

them every day. She calls them her "Costa Rica Shoes".

Steve & Jane and their family invited us Murphy's up to their cabin for the first annual Owen/Murphy Family Day at the Cabin. It was soooo beautiful. I don't know if the kids had more fun on the rope swing, in pixyland getting prizes, boating on the lake, playing horse shoes, petting horses, singing around the campfire, or eating all the yummy food. The Owen's have worked so hard and have made this place so amazing. Thanks Steve & Jane for such a wonderful afternoon and evening. We can't wait to go back. Happy Birthday Kaleb & Sage!Ok, so don't ask me how I got myself into this but Uncle Ken told me that "tomorrow we have a great tradition of playing the Great Mousecapades". The next day, reunion day, he some how framed me as the poster child of these great mousecapades & gets me a stick and leads me & all the other participants up to the sheep feeder troughs. The men then proceeded to tip over the feeder boxes where tons and tons of mice squirmed and ran all over the place while we had to kill them with our sticks to keep them from eating & destroying the feeder boxes. Holy freakin' cow-you can only imagine the feelings I had! :-) However, much to Ken's and my surprise I went at it. It was either kill or have them crawling up my legs. So i had a total of 9 under my belt. Even though Fusser had like 100, I was still quite proud of myself. Thanks Ken for the fun! Something I definately won't forget, but will probably never do again! Ha.

Good Times at Powell-Well for the Most Part...

The entire Murphy Crew was finally able to all go to Lake Powell together. It was the first year the every family could go. We had such a great time being together and cousins playing 16 hours a day straight. So much fun bonding together with all my siblings, parents, nieces, & nephews. Unfortunately however, we had a few turns for the worse...First poor Jackson cut his ankle open after accidently kicking the switch-blade on the boat and had to go into Page for stiches and couldn't get his foot wet for the rest of the week. But such a tough1 kid with such a great attitude! Second and worst of all, my brother-in-law Steve & 10 year-old nephew Max were working on a wave runner and it blew up on them. They both had to be life-flighted to Maricopa Burn Unit in Phoenix for treatment where they stayed for the next 3 nights. But after many prayers and blessings, they were able to come home. Unfortunately they still have a long recovery & pain ahead of them. But so far no skin grafting will be needed and they both have great new hair buzzes. We are definately so greatful it wasn't worse then it was & truely witnessed some miracles take place. And we're so thankful to all our great friends and ward members for all their concern & prayers. People have been so thoughtful and we hope they know how much we've appreciated them. So now that we're home we'll have to get geared up for next year! My Mother says, "I don't think so." But we'll covince her!:-)We started the vacation with a couple days in St. George for some rest & relaxation before all the craziness began in Lake Powell. This is Jessica, Porter, and Jacob.

Surfin' USA

Fire Dancing and glow sticks.The kids loved playing around with the glow sticks and once they were done, the big kids learned to melt them and then fling all the juice inside all over eachother. Soon enough no more sticks just glow-kids.
If a kid can get messy, there's nothing better than a sucker to keep them busy!

Jessica's first Wake Surfing lesson. Thanks to Steve, she was able to try it out. A bit nervous but since Steve's a good enough surfer, she never had to crash into the water. He surfed right up onto the boat and handed her to us and then just kept on surfing. So cute. Thanks Steve!!!

Here are a few pictures of my nephew Max. The picture above was before he was taken into the marina. Rhett, Angie, and Jess took them all in on the ski boat. They had called ahead to ask for an ambulance to meet them and once they arrived the came upon 6 police cars that had blocked off anyone from coming into the ramp, 2 ambulances, and a helicopter. They lifeflighted Max to Flagstaff, AZ and took Steve by ambulance to Page, AZ. Neither place was able to assist them and so they were both flewn to Pheonix and met up there. At one point they were going to intubate Steve for fear he had inhaled the flames and place him on life support for possibly 3 days, but once in Pheonix they decided they didn't have to. Thank goodness Steve put up a good fight. They both sustained deep second degree burns all over their arms and faces which will need to be scrubbed and cleaned for much time to come. While they were there they were able to meet Christian & Stephanie Nielsen who were involed in a place crash last summer and received severe burns. Our hearts go out to them and their family members as we were able to feel just a tiny glimps of what they have gone through over the past year. They and their family (The Clark's) were so cute and supportive. Her mom, Mrs. Clark was there to great my sister who lives near her, & her brother & wife, Andrew & Megan were there to greet my parents & us and we pulled into our driveways. Such a wonderful family and my sister Stacy says that the experience of meeting Christian & Stephanie was such a neat thing and told us all what precious people they are. We were thankful to them for offering their help and taking the time to visit Max, Steve, & Stacy in the hospital and are greatful again to all the friends and family who have been calling to check in & for their prayers. We definately saw proof of answered prayers and are so greatful that Steve & Max are doing so well.

Our Boss' sent us away for the weekend for some much needed R&R! Cambria, Hailey, Black, Knapp, Shelby, Duncan, and Stephanie had a great time and laughed way too much. The Murphy family went to the Sand Dunes this weekend. And as always we had a great time four-wheeling, jumping off sand dunes, BBQ-ing, and Smore making! Although we had sand in every crevis possible it was well worth the fun time we had being together as a family! We were only missing Dustin & Meg and the kids. Can't wait for them to come home! Once again, thanks for the memories!!! Making a mess as usual. Kaleb only wanted to eat dirt and pick up the giant beatles climbing around. But come night fall he just wanted to play in the fire.

They had a great time and Jessi definately can't wait to go again. She climbed to the top and her favorite party was repelling back down. Brave little girl!

Honky Tonkin' Weekend!

Jess & I spent part of the week in Nashville, Tennessee. I had to attend a conference for work but we had some fun crazy nights full of excitement. Out hotel was across the street from Vanderbilt University and we decided to take a walk and get some grub to find Jason Mraz & Dave Matthews Band were in concert and bought tickets from scalpers. Good concert!After we went for some yummy ice cream cones at Maggie Moo's. This ended up becomming a nightly ritual for every night we were there. On the third afternoon we went to The Hermitage which was Andrew Jacksons home/plantation. He had many slaves and made a fortune off of the 500 acres on cotton fields he had picked by them. But he had over 1100 acres of land to tend and care for. Ugh. I can hardley manage our home. But it was a neat experience to learn about the history of the servants and the time period and his plantation.

We were able to take a horse carriage ride around the land

and hear more about what took place there.

Back to down town & old town. 3 blocks from our hotel was this neat park that had an exact replica of t4he Parthanon. So we went to check that out.

One nice thing about Nashville was it was very clean and felt very safe at

all hours of the day & night.

The second night we hit downtown and ate at the world famous Wild Horse Saloon. It was so fun. We ate, country danced, and line danced all while watching and listening to some live country. Fun and crazy seen!

Downtown has so many different places to eat, dance, and listen to all of the country singing wannabe's trying to make it. Such a fun environment!

On the last night our hotel was hosting a charity auction/wine tasting event. Little did we know when we were walking through the lobby that it would be entertaining a handful of celebrities and country singers. The list included

Kellie Pickler, Steven Baldwin, Faith Hill, Martina McBride, Michelle Branch, Big N' Rich, Raskel Flatts, & Amy Grant, and more. I was able to get a few pics

Happy Freaking Birthday Andrea!

Sad to say, but Kaleb has never been into an actual salon for a haircut. But after trying to trim away the overgrowing side burns and the mullit in the back it just go too out of control. $10 later we have a handsom little man ready to enroll in the National Guard. He cried for about 45 seconds and then started laughing cause the razor was tickling his neck. All in all- a good experience. Jess on the other hand was sad to lose the mullit. He was proud of it. Grandma had a fantastic idea to have a "Pinkalicious" Party for all the little girl grandkid. It was based around the book and the girls all loved dressing up in their best pink stuff. They had a great time just playing, listening to Aunt Lisa read the book, and decorating cupcakes & sugar cookies with frosting and all the toppings! I'm sure you can imagine the mess. But thanks to Grandma for the idea, Grandpa for tolerating us all in his home making a mess, and all the cousins for being so fun! Skiing at Sundance!

Fresh snow, no crowds, and 55 degrees up top. You can't beat this! Jess & I, Willis & Sage, Merri, & Joseph, and Dad & Mike Reece all went skiing last week. It was so warm we had to shed some of our layers. And then snow was absolutely teriffic. What a great day to ski. In the end we were a little sore but had great tans and fun memories. It had been a while, but from now skiing will be a big part of our winters to come! Can't wait to bring Jessica & Kaleb one day.

New Year's Eve!!!

Oh boy, did we have a night packed with events. Megan was still in town so we spent our crazy-fun evening with them and Pap & Ab. We started off at the First Night down town where the kids did crafts, face painting, watch fire throwers, get balloon animals, get funky hair styles, and play games. But it didn't end there...

Then it was off to Carl's Jr for a quick bite. Next stop- the QUARRY!

Willis (Jess' brother) hooked us up BIG TIME! We went to the Quarry for some rock climbing, but they had a pinata and swinging from the roof top too! They rigged the ropes to the ceiling and stood from the railing on the top floor and jumped to swing in the air 30 feet off the ground while Willis lowered them down. Holy cow when Jessi said she wanted to I said no way. But we let her and she absolutely loved it, along with the rest of the posse! Jessi standing on the railing ready to jump 30 feet off the ground! After the Quarry we headed back to Abby & Pappy's for games, treats, movies, and some more Par-tay! Wow what a night. Although we adults were exhausted, these kids had an absolute blast being together. What great memories!

Our tradition is you wait on the stairs till we're all ready with the camera and have all the kids up and going, and then all come down together to see everybody's reaction at the same time. That's how we used to do it when we were kids too. We hated it, but it made for some really good home video. It would seem that Kaleb hates it too!

Then over to the Knapp's for the evening. Grandma made all the little girls the same little ballerina tu-tu's. They loved them, of course!

Heather, Andrea, Megan, Anna & I went to the 12:03 premier of "Twilight". We first met up with Amy and Rachel at Wingers for some tasty "Sticky Fingers" and thanks Rachel for some of you Asphalt Pie! Delish!!! I don't know what to say about the movie though. Have any of you ever seen "Edward Sizzor Hands?" Well you'll see what I'm talking about then. But we had a great time and lots of laughs and I love the name Spider Monkey! Hope everyone else enjoys it. I think I'm going to have to see it again to determine what I really think. For FHE we went with Pappy & Abby to the Halloween Night at the Bean Museum. They ahd a speaker who brought out all the "Spooky" animals (giant spiders, vampire bat, and snakes) for display and to teach the kids about them. Jessica especially loved the boa! Yuck!

Our boss' Dr. Harris & Dr. Park took all us girls and our hubbies boating at Deer Creek for a "fun day" at Utah Surgical Arts! We all had a total blast. Dr. Park's boat was awesome and I don't know if the loud speakers for the stereo or the heaters were a bigger hit! But we all had a great time taking turns wakeboarding, surfing, and riding wave runners, laughing at eachother, making fun of eachother, or clapping for eachother. No doubt about it, we definately saw a different side to eachother that we wouldn't see on a normal day at the office! Ha ha! Here is my attemp at wake surfing, I look like a total idiot! But at least I did it. Ha ha! Um...nice wetsuit! Just kidding, he was the smart one. The water was freakin' cold, but by the time you were numb it wasn't so bad!

This was our campsite for Sheena to hang out at since we didn't think she'd be able to ride much being 9 months pregnant and all. Dr. Park was so nice to pack lunches and coolers and bring his shade canopy and chairs. But unfortunately, we all decided it was too much fun being on the boat and nobody wanted to stay at the beach. When we got back at the end of the day, the canopy had blown away and was totally bent and broken! Dr. Park- you're awesome and totally thoughtful, but sorry about your canopy! :-(

I went in for my regular hair die touch up and trim. My stylist, Jessica, asked what I wanted to do today and I decided on the spot that maybe short hair would be a nice change. St. George - Labor Day Weekend

We went with the Overson's and the Church's to stay in the

condo for the weekend. We all had a great time, with a few

exceptions of Jess and Brig getting super sick with a stomach

bug. Not very nice. But otherwise it was a great weekend.

get to see them when they come from

Arizona to visit. So thanks guys for making the trip.

Our most awsomest friends in the world invited us to the Tim McGraw Concert at Usana. We had VIP tickets which gave us a private booth with plenty of room, our own waitress, and a VIP dinner before. I don't know how we'll be able to go to another concert again. It won't be the same without all the special treatment and not having to deal with crazy people spilling beer everywhere! Ha ha. One of my favorite movies is "Man From Snowy River" cause I'm inlove with Jim. Just kidding. I'm not necessarily a huge cowboy lover but there is just something about that guy riding his buck-skin horse down those mountains rangling and hearding all those wild horses and beating all the bad guys at it! Ok- I'm a total freak. But now I'm married to my real life "man from snowy river" Ha ha!!The real story of this is Jess' aunt and uncle have a ranch in Lava Hot Springs, Idaho. So this year Jess and all his brothers made a boys weekend out of it and went to help Ken and his boys and the other "real" cowboys heard the cows down to the ranch for branding, tagging, and CASTRATING the bulls! Ya- thats right! But they sure had a blast and made memories never to forget.

Pappy has the best sled in the world. It holds the most people and it is the most controlable and sturdy sled. And it's from the 80's! They just don't make things like they used to. Ha ha.

Unfortunately, we did have one accident. Poor McKenzie was going down the hill super fast with little brother Bo. They were headed right for a tree and rock. So cute Kenzie turned herself to protect Bo and smashed her back right into a sharp edge of the big rock. Good thing she ended up being ok, but there was a local fireman on site who had to come check her out! What a little hero.
Jessica loved sledding until she went down the hill! All the snow sprayed up in her face and then she was done for the rest of the day. So she and Kenz took refuge on the chairs with the treats!
